Compensation lawyer for accidents, medical negligence and damages

After an accident or a medical error, recovery comes first. We take care of the legal side: who is liable, what losses can be claimed and through which route.

Compensation: accidents, medical negligence and damages

Loss is not just a repair bill. You can claim medical expenses, lost earnings, care costs, loss of working capacity and moral damages for physical and psychological suffering. Where a close relative has died, family members may claim compensation in their own right. Each type of loss needs suitable evidence.

We identify who is liable: the driver and their motor insurer, the hospital and the doctor's malpractice insurer, the employer or a public authority. Sometimes compensation is obtained through negotiation, sometimes in the criminal case by joining as a civil party, or in a separate civil claim. The route chosen affects how long it takes and what evidence is needed.

We help you gather medical records, expert reports and proof of income, challenge insufficient insurer offers and, where necessary, represent you in court. We cannot promise a particular amount, but we explain how damages are assessed in practice and which claims are supported by evidence. Keep every document from the start, even if it seems unimportant at the time.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long do I have to claim compensation?

As a rule, the right to claim compensation is time-barred after 3 years, running from when the victim knew or should have known of the damage and of the person liable for it. There are special situations, for example where the act is also a criminal offence. It is better to act early, while evidence is still easy to obtain.

Can I claim directly from the at-fault driver's motor insurer?

Yes. The injured party can claim directly from the motor insurer of the at-fault vehicle and, if compensation is not paid or is insufficient, can sue the insurer. If the vehicle was uninsured or the driver was not identified, under certain conditions payment can be requested from the Policyholders Guarantee Fund. Keep all claim documents carefully.

How is medical negligence proven?

Mainly through the complete medical records, observation sheets, test results and discharge letters, together with forensic or specialist expert reports. It must be shown that a professional error occurred and that it caused the harm. There is also a procedure before a malpractice monitoring commission, and whether it is preferable to a court claim is assessed case by case.

How are moral damages assessed?

The law sets no fixed scale. The court assesses suffering based on the evidence: the severity of injuries, length of treatment, impact on personal and working life, the victim's age and case law in similar cases. That is why claims should be supported by medical records, witnesses and sometimes psychological assessments, not only by an estimated figure.
